Preguntas frecuentes

Frequently asked questions
How do I register a pet?
- Open PETO-ID and sign in.
- Tap Add pet and fill in the details (name, breed, age).
- When prompted, take a burst of photos of the nose, following the on-screen guide, in good light.
- The app processes the images and creates your pet's nasal biometric signature. Done.
The identification found no match. Is the technology failing?
It almost always means that pet is not registered yet in PETO-ID — not that the technology failed. Identification compares the nose against pets that are already registered: if no one registered that animal, there can be no match.
That's why the more pets are registered, the more useful the system is for everyone. If you believe your pet is registered and it still doesn't match, try again in good light with the nose in sharp focus, or email us.
How does the collar QR code work?
The collar QR code is used to identify your pet and show your contact details to whoever finds it, so they can reach you.
It is not a locator: it does not tell you where your pet is. It only works when a person scans the code with their phone.
How do I report a lost pet?
In the app, mark your pet as lost. That way, if someone finds it and scans its nose or the collar QR code, they can identify it and see how to contact you.
PETO-ID helps identify the pet; it does not guarantee recovery.
